Prasagraj: Eid-ul-Zuha Festival is a low affair in Sangam City on Wednesday.
Adhering to the appeal of their religious leaders, Muslims in the city celebrate the festival following all Covid protocols.
Not many people visit the leading mosques of the city.
They remained confined in their home, and only visited mosques from their respective regions.
Revelers also refrained from mass celebrations.
Meanwhile, a large number of obedient Muslims look to serve poor people and need, offer new clothes, food and monetary assistance.
“My family doesn’t do Qurbani this year, because a little relative we have lost their lives for Covid.
The celebration remains calm.
There are only families who gather in our house,” said Mohamad Fehzan from the old city area.
Shahab Uddin, a tailor who lives in the Harwara area, said, “We prepared all the special Eid al-Fitr dishes and distributed the same among poor families living nearby.” Although a large number of people came out to shop on a few days before Bakrid, but the road was relatively less crowded on the festival day.
Only a number of people arrived at all the main mosques of the city.
In general, people remain confined well to their homes or in their territory.
Because some relaxation in restrictions, families visit each other, and some people are also seen in local parks, malls and restaurants.
“Some families do visit our restaurant.
We have also made special preparations for the event,” said Raju Jaiswal, a local restaurant owner in the civil line area.
Some Hindu families also visited their Muslim friends and celebrated the shared festival.
“I won’t miss meeting my Muslim friends in Eid al-Fitr and Bakrid.
Although, last year, the limit was tighter, this festival was celebrated more freely this year because the number of Covid cases had dropped,” said Gopal Srivastava, an executive from the city.
“There are no visitors in Idul Fitri this year, but in Bakrid, some of my friends did come to my place, and we had fun.
