Ballygunge Cu campus gets a touch of healing

Kolkata: Calcutta University has begun to renovate the Ballygunge campus over a century over a century.
The state PWD has done renovation work.
The Rajabazar campus will be the next agenda.
The authorities Cu said the renovation work began last week.
The overall renovation for the College Street campus from Calcutta University is also ongoing.
The Ballygunge Science College is the second campus where the complete renovation project has been taken.
It starts with an outer wall repair but soon it will get a modern building look with all facilities.
The auditorium on campus will also be updated with all modern equipment and facilities.
Renovation worked in prograpima a few years ago, a devastating fire broke on the campus of the University Blallygunge, damaging several floors, especially the zoology department.
Now the authorities Cu plans to produce the right fire extinguisher on each floor with a fire and sprinklers.
Classrooms, lifts and guesthouses will be renovated one by one.
Sonali Chakravarti Banerjee Chancarred Chancellor, “Cu began renovating the BlallyGunge Science College campus considering India’s 75-year independence celebration.” Taraknath Palit, who was closely involved with the Swadeshi movement, has given his extensive house for the purpose of science and technology, where the Ballygungean Science College appears.
Palit contributed great assets and wealth, including his home, in 1912 for universities and science and technology, which was immediately followed by charity that was equally generous for the same purpose of Rashbehari Ghosh in 1913.
Palit executed two confidence actions In June and October, 1912 for Calcutta University by contributing 1.5 million.
Palit and Ghosh together contributed nearly Rs 37.5 lakh used to build Taraknath Palit Siksha Prangan in the Ballygunge Circular Road and Rashbehari Siksha Prangan in Rajabazar.
VC said the palit mission was to develop a strong educational base in the pre-independence era.
It is a great step and a major contribution to Swadeshi’s progress along the teaching and scientific learning paths during colonial times.
The famous teaching staff took Swadeshi development sticks such as Acharya PraFulla Chandra Ray, Sir Chandra Sekhar Venkata Raman, Kumar Mitra’s comb.
“Today, by completing the full-scale renovation of the Ballygunge Campus, also known as Taraknath Palit Siksha Prangan, through the PWD country, we paid our tribute to the original Pathfinders who had paved the way for Indian freedom” VC added.
