Kanpur: After spending 12 years in Pakistani prison, Banda Resident Ram Bahadur (45) was released on Monday.
As a native population in the village of Pachokhar Banda in the city of Tindu, Bahadur Ram was shaken under psychological disorders and illegally crossed to Pakistan, police said.
He was arrested for suspicion that he was an Indian spy and released on August 30.
He was handed over to the Punjab authority, a senior police official said on Wednesday.
Speaking to the media, his family members thanked the government for bringing him back to India.
After Ram Bahadur lost in 2009, his family member filed a complaint with the Tindu’s police station.
The case was registered in this matter and as efforts to track it, the family came to find out in January 2021 that he was detained in Pakistan.
His father Gilla Prajapati told reporters that Bahadur Ram was mentally unhealthy and lost around 12 years ago.
“We have been looking for, but can’t find it.
We suspect he dies in several accidents, and we don’t have a little feeling that he crosses the border and reaches Pakistan and is imprisoned there,” said Prajapati.
His sister, Maiku said that Ram Bahadur was the eldest of the two brothers.
Santosh Kumar Village Head said that detailed information about RAM Bahadur was available for district administration.
“On Tuesday, the Lekhpal Khushbu Gupta reached Bahadur’s House Ram and made it identified through video calls.
Then, Amritsar’s administration and military officers interact with the father of Ram Bahadur, Gilla Prajapati and Mrs.
Kusuma,” said Santosh Kumar Village Chief.
“Pakistani authorities have released it on Monday.
He reached India through Attari.
However, he has been stored in a hospital in Amritsar, Punjab.
He will be there for two days.
In government instruction, Banda administration and police officials have verified RAM Bahadur and sent a report to Amritsar Administration, “Informed Inspector Police Banda, Abhinandan.
