Madhubani: Benipatti observed the bandh complete on Sunday in protest against the murder of an activist RTI and local web portal reporter, Buddhinath Jha alias Avinash Jha, allegedly by the operator of the nursing home that doubted whom he had written and complained to the district government.
Bandh, however, remains peaceful.
The body was scorched from Avinash, tied in a gunny bag, found on Friday night.
His brother Chandra Shekhar Jha has submitted a missing report at the Benipatti police station on November 11, capturing his kidnapping.
In fact, Avinash has been lost since November 9 when this reporter visited Benipatti on Sunday, Avinash’s cousin Vikash Jha said the protest was a spontaneous reaction to the statement of Madhubani SP Satya Prakash to the news channel that might occur behind the alleged murder.
This makes the locals view this in an effort to divert the attention of the people and save the perpetrators.
Overcoming a press conference in Madhubani, Benipatti SDO Arun Kumar Singh said Chandra Shekhar, son of Dairand Jha, told the police on November 10 that his sister Buddhinath, 23, had been lost since the night before.
Acting immediately, the police issued a detail of calls from Buddhinath cellphones and found that he had his last telephone conversation at 10pm with a Purnakala Devi, anurag health care nurses staff on Jalan Katiyya, he said.
Sdpo said when he was questioned, the woman lied that she was at her father’s place in Brahmpura Village under the area of the police station that night.
This claim was found incorrectly on technical verification, which proved that he was in Benipatti.
When further interrogated, he admitted that Avinash came to the nursing home around 10:15 a.m.
and met him.
After a while when they came out of the nursing home, five people waited there kidnapping Avinash and took him to the nurse’s house K K Chaudhary.
He identified the kidnappers as Raushan Kumar, Bittu Kumar, Peak Kumar Pandit, Pawan Kumar Pandit and Manish Kumar.
They have all been arrested.
FIR (243/21) has been submitted against them, SDPO added.
