Hyderabad: The Privile Lok Sabha committee has served a notification to the Head of Secretary of Telangana Somesh Kumar, Director General of Police Mahender Reddy and four other police officials in connection with violations of complaints from the privileges submitted by BJP MP Bandi Sanjay Kumar.
Officials have been directed to appear before the panel on February 2 to provide verbal evidence of complaints by members of Lok Sabha from Karimnagar.
Bandi Sanjay complained to Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla on January 3 against Karimnagar Police Commissioner V Satyanarayana and three other Karimnagar police officers forcibly arrested him in a ‘illegal’ way and filed alleged false cases against him.
Sanjay appeared before the 15-member Privileges Committee on Friday and explained how the police ‘persecuted’.
He urged the panel led by Sunil Kumar Singh to take action against police officers involved in the incident.
