Dhaka: The Bangladesh Government has expanded the “strict locking” nationally applied to the Covid-19 pandemic for seven more days until July 14.
The country’s cabinet division made an announcement in the circulation issued on Monday, reported the Xinhua news agency.
To combat Pandemic, Bangladesh stated the seven-day locking that applies from July 1 with “strict action”.
The cabinet division in its latest order said all the limits were extended in consideration of the current state of pandemics which continued in this country.
Previously on Monday, Bangladesh reported the highest surge of 9,964 new Covid-19 cases and 164 deaths, according to the Directorate General of Health (DGHS).
The numbers were nail one day highest since the emergence of pandemics in the country on March 8, 2020, bringing infection calculations to 954,881 and the death toll became 15,229.
According to official data, the mortality rate in Bangladesh is now 1.59 percent and the current recovery rate fell to 87.87 percent.
