Dhaka: Bangladesh has expressed confidence that the opening of Tamim Iqbal will fully recover from a knee injury in time for the Twenty20 World Cup this year in the United Arab Emirates in October and November.
Tamim hurt his knees during the April-May tour in Sri Lanka and returned in the middle through the next Zimbabwe tour in July.
He will lose the twenty-year series next month against New Zealand, but the voter’s head Minhajul Abedin said the 32-year-old player would be suitable for the World Cup where Bangladesh had to finish between the top two in Group B to make the Super 12 Stage tournament.
“I didn’t see doubts,” Abedin told the CricBuzz website.
