Ranchi: The Ministry of Health, Medical Education and Family Welfare have directed a civil surgeon from all 24 districts to identify and vaccinate their truck and helper drivers involved in transportation of goods to Bangladesh through land port and land customs station (LCS).
However, it is not known how many truck drivers from the state shuttle between India and Bangladesh.
The department command came a day after the External Ministry Union directed all states bordering Bangladesh to take truck vaccination in priority.
Speaking with Toi, officers about special assignments for the State Health Department Siddharth Tripathy said: “We have issued direction to all districts so that those involved in movement to Bangladesh for trading purposes can be identified and the earliest vaccinated.” In its order, it was issued on June 17 to countries, MEA said the decision was taken to ensure bilateral trade that was not disconnected between the two neighboring countries.
MEA also told that the Bangladesh government had taken the initiative to vaccinate Bangladesh trucks, helpers and workers involved in transportation of goods at all borders.
“To ensure the vaccination of all the people involved in trade, we have directed the district authorities to examine these trucks that have permission to travel to Bangladesh and drivers and other staff must be vaccinated so that the risk of spreading the virus can be eliminated.
The earliest.
According to our information, Bangladeshi authorities have started the same thing, “Tripathy said.
This step arises even when the state government has not come out with a concrete plan for vaccination of people engaged in the transportation business in Jharkhand.
