Bangladesh wants to work with India to realize a joint vision of building a peaceful and prosperous area: PM Hasina

Dhaka: Bangladesh wants to work with India to realize a joint vision of building a peaceful and prosperous area, said Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on Wednesday when he extended greetings to Indian partners Narendra Modi and people in the Republic of India on the 73rd day.
In a letter written to Modi, Hasina said the year 2021 was “historic” for Bangladesh-India’s relationship, marked by celebrating “Epochal” events and involvement at the highest level.
“On behalf of the government and the people of Bangladesh and on my own behalf, I extend the warmest wishes and consciousness of the most hurt to you and people in India on the opportunity to benefit the day of the Republic of India,” he said.
Hasina said the unique bond of close friendship, cooperation and trust between the two countries had developed and grew from strength to strength in recent years.
Many new borders of cooperation in addition to all traditional areas have been identified, especially during the Covid-19 pandemic, he said.
“We hope to work with India in the next fifty years and so on, to realize a shared vision of building a peaceful and prosperous area,” he said.
Hasina said she was “Fortunately” considering Modi’s visit to Dhaka in March last year to join the Golden Jubilee celebration of Bangladesh’s independence, the Bangabandhu Bangabandhu Bangabandhu Calenary Sheikh Mujibuk Rahman and 50 years of formation of diplomatic bonds between Bangladesh and India.
“Your friendly presence on these occasions has added extra enthusiasm for celebrations and allows us to consolidate our excellent bilateral relations, which is very happy between our two countries,” he wrote in the letter.
Hasina said with a gratitude given by the support by the government and the people of India during the Bangladeshi Liberation War in 1971 and said this determined the basis of “our unique relationship.” “The joint celebration of ‘Moitri was held’ held around the world on December 6, when India recognized Bangladesh as a sovereign and independent country in 1971, projected this special relationship,” Hasina wrote.
