Madurai: Minister of Health and Welfare of the Subramanian family on Tuesday inaugurated a bone bank at the Rajaji Government Hospital (GRH) in Madurai.
Bone bank, which has been determined by the cost of Rs 40 Lakh, is the first facility such as a government hospital in Nadu Tamil Selatan.
“After the bone bank at the Cancer Institute in Chennai, this is a second bone bank in the state.
This will benefit the patient in South Tamil Nadu.
Bone banks will be very useful for cancer patients and patients suffering from traumatic injuries.
Tamil Nadu is one of the states Up in this country for organ donations.
Now, bones can also be donated at GRH, “said Minister.
Commercial Tax Minister P Mohorth and the main secretary for the health and department of the J Radhakrishnan family welfare is among those present.
Previously, the Minister of Health also inaugurated a sophisticated radiation therapy facility at the regional cancer center in the Balarengapuram, set at a cost of Rs 3.10 Crore.
“Cancer patients from South TN can benefit from facilities.
We will take steps to develop further regional cancer centers and bring more facilities,” added Subramanian.
