PATNA: In a joint performance using particular task force, ” the Vaishali, Samastipur and Muzaffarpur authorities busted a gang involved in 3 bank robberies, such as loot of Rs 1.19 crore in the Jadwa division of HDFC Bank at Hajipur, also detained eight offenders, including two girls, in the previous 24 hours.
The authorities also recovered Rs 93.19 lakh in cash from the ownership of the arrested offenders.
While five offenders had committed the prosecution in the HDFC Bank division at Hajipur on June 10, three motorcycle-borne offenders had looted Rs 1.8 lakh out of Bikram Bandepur division of Canara Bank at Samastipur district on April 29.
Seven inmates had looted Rs 7.75 lakh out of State Bank of India’s Tajpur division at Samastipur on May 19.
Vaishali SP Maneesh reported the identical gang had been involved in each of the 3 robberies.
“Of Rs 1.19 crore looted from HDFC Bank, Rs 88 lakh was recovered.
The remainder of the recovered sum had been looted in both Samastipur banks,” that the SP added.
Maneesh said the detained offenders were identified as Mohammad Arman, ” his spouse Ajmeri Khatoon, Mohammad Khurshid, Mohammad Shaukat, Mohammad Aleem, Om Prakash, Rajeev Kumar alias Bulla along with Asha Devi.
Maneesh reported the offenders were arrested from various locations in Vaishali, Samastipur and Muzaffarpur districts.
“Arman is the chief of this gang.
Clothes worn by offenders involved with loot in HDFC Bank, three bikes, two pistols found at the offense and 13 live cartridges were recovered,” the SP said, including Rs 4 lakh was retrieved in Ajmeri and Rs 50,000 annually from Khurshid and Shaukat.
“On the basis of the confessions, the STF detained Arman out of Bhagwanpur bus rack in Vaishali and regained Rs 25.67 lakh in cash, a pistol and six live cartridges from his possession,” he explained.
The SP stated Ajmeri’s confession resulted in arrest Om out of whom Rs 17.72 lakh had been recovered.
“Om was detained in the home of the in-laws in Pahepur village below the Mufassil police station place in Samastipur.
Aleem, on the flip side, was detained from his maternal uncle’s home at Laxmipur village beneath the Mahua police station place in Vaishali.
A amount of Rs 27 lakh was recovered by the home of Indrasen, yet another offender, in Sahdullapur and Rs 17.8 lakh in Prabhat Kumar’s home at Keshopur Simri beneath the Sakra police station place at Muzaffarpur,” he explained.
SHO of all Town police station Subodh Kumar Singh stated Asha Devi is mum of Indrasen.
“The two members of this gang — Mukesh and Indrasen — remain too large,” he further added.
