Rajkot: Bank employees driven by debt fled with RS 43.75 lakh cash which he should deposit at Bank ATMs in the city of Jetpur Rajkot on Wednesday.
The defendant wanted to pay off his debt with stolen money, police said.
Complaints of theft and criminal violations of trust were submitted by the Manager of the State of India (SBI), Jetpur, ManoRanjan Kumar, against his subordinates Vijay Gangaram, who had disappeared with cash since Wednesday afternoon.
According to police complaints, Gangaram was assigned to set Rs 43.75 lakh at the right ATM adjacent to the bank office in Jetpur.
However, instead of depositing cash at the ATM, Gangaram went straight to his house in the city of Virpur with cash.
When the bank branch manager tried to contact him by telephone expressed that Gangaram had turned off his cellphone.
Because Gangaram became unable to be traced, the bank manager filed a complaint with Jetpur police on Wednesday night.
When the police reached Gangsaram’s house in the city of Virpur, they found a note there.
Note reading, “I took cash because I owed it heavily.” The police said that Gangaram had worked with a bank for the past 13 years.
