Lucknow: The upper government on Friday is prohibited from sales and the use of firecrackers in Diwali and other upcoming festivals this year in the National Capital Region (NCR) and other cities in the state, where the air quality surrounding is bad.
And for the city with ‘moderate’ air quality, firecrackers will be limited, the state house department states.
Green crackers, however, can be used, but not for more than two hours.
During Christmas and New Year, green crackers can be used between 11:55 and 12:30, only where air quality is ‘medium’ or lower.
The use of firecrackers for other reasons besides the specified festival, the previous permit from the regional district judge will be needed and will be permitted for a limited period if permission is given, based on air quality.
