AYODHYA: Much as individuals in several nations are not able to get vaccinated, citizens of a village in Uttar Pradesh’s Barabanki district fled their houses when a group of caregivers touched there to conduct a vaccination campaign on Saturday day and jumped to the river Saryu. Residents of Sisauda village afterwards said that they jumped into the lake for a rumour had spread from the village it wasn’t a vaccine but also a hazardous injection. Sub-divisional magistrate (SDM) Rajiv Shukla said,”We achieved the village using a health group to vaccinate villagers. However, when they saw them approaching, a lot ran away. When we attempted to prevent themthey jumped to the river. We attempted to sensitize them about the value of the vaccine however they didn’t relent. We strove hard to allay their apprehensions, however, just 14 individuals got themselves yell,” he explained.
