Barber shop see good feet as a school, college reopens

Coimbatore: Barber shops in the city are busy serving school and college students who have begun to attend offline classes.
People want their wards to look good when they step into educational institutions after a few months and insist that they get a haircut.
Loss of their livelihoods for months together because of a pandemic, hoping to have busy days in front if more classes begin.
“We get 20% more customers because offline classes are announced.
We mostly get school students and college in the morning,” said the barber in Huzur Road here.
“I hope more customers over the weekend because the uncertainty period has ended.
The teacher expects students to have a clean and neat appearance.” But there is only a marginal increase in footsteps, said S Saravanakumar, Secretary of Coimbatore North District Barbers Association.
“The barber struggles for months because of strict Covid-19 regulations.
Many cannot pay rent for shops and many struggle to feed their families.
We expect more patronage when reopening schools and colleges announced.
But people are still hesitant to visit Barber shops for fear of being infected, “he told toi.
