Barge P305 Accident: ONGC, Mathews Distribute docus into cops

MUMBAI: Officials of 2 businesses, ONGC and Mathews, on Saturday filed records to the Yellow Gate police probing the barge P305’s accident case that had adrift and sank in the ocean May 17.
The records were being filed to the authorities after the researchers had issued summons to those before this week.
The Yellow Gate authorities stated that it had obtained 71 bodies and 18 of these were still unknown.
As many as 53 bodies, recognized by relatives, have now been passed on to them.
The Navy had rescued 186 team members that had been on P305 through its rescue surgery and recovered bodies also.
The authorities are probing a case of culpable homicide amounting to not murder from Rakesh Ballav, captain of P305, along with many others.
Some bodies have been brought from Raigarh that are supposed to function as tug Varaprada team members.
Varaprada had 13 team members as it sank on May 17.
While two of these Francis Simson (51) along with Saheb Sapan Bhutia (23) lived and were rescued by INS Kolkata, 11 others had gone lost.
A police officer stated they were busy collecting the files and analyzing them.
“Our investigation is on and we’re collecting data from all of the agencies involved,” said an officer.
Mathew had supplied the maximum work force, 192 team members, who had been operating on P305, said a police officer.
Meanwhile, two figures of tug Varaprada team Rakesh Kumar (34) and Pankaj Kumar Sharma (45) were identified with their loved ones in Gujarat.
The figures will be handed on to them, ” said authorities.
The authorities till Saturday had, with the support of physicians in the Nagpada police practice, collected the blood samples of 29 relatives of those team members.
The blood samples are transmitted into the Kalina forensic science lab to coincide with the anonymous bodies.
Meanwhile, authorities also have roped in certain personal marine specialists to comprehend the operation of recruiting / manpower providing companies.
“We’re taking aid to understand the way their system operates,” said an officer.
Suhas Hemadi, senior inspector of Yellow Gate police station, was appointed investigating officer in this situation.
