Vadodara: Continuing with his dominance in the state-level football tournament, the Baroda senior team has not yet appeared this year’s champion.

The champion won the final 3-2 on penalties and lifted the dependency glass in the state-level tournament held for the first time in the league-cum-knockout format.
This is the 22nd that Baroda has won this prestigious tournament where districts from all gujarat participate.
“Of the 39 edition of this tournament, Baroda has lifted the trophy for 22 times this year.
This is a proud moment for us because our boys have performed consistently for years.
This time the tournament is difficult when children play on trot For nine days, “said Hanif Ginwala, President of the Baroda District Football Association (BDFA).
This association has recently embarrassed the winning team in a function held in the city.
When asked about the reasons behind the complete domination of Baroda on the Gujarat football tour, BDFA Secretary, said Sandip Desai, “We are the oldest football association in the state and we have produced talented players since the 1960s.
Apart from cricket, Vadodara also has a football culture .
“This city is home to 18 registered football clubs and has more than 25 licensed trainers who maintain young players.
“While madness for football again took over the past few years, the city always saw a large enough audience for a football tournament even a few decades ago.
In fact, the club used to have dedicated fans in the past,” Desai, himself a former player National football, recalled.
Ginwala said that the city had around 10 soccer fields regardless of those in schools and colleges.
“We provide good infrastructure to players and also regulate football tours regularly every year.
When the country’s team was chosen for national tournaments, at least three to four players from Baroda always cut,” he told Toi.
Desai added that the inter-school soccer tournament organized by the Times of India over the past few years in Ahmedabad and Vadodara has also provided platforms to players who aspire and produce a lot of good footballers.
