Kolkata: The Barrackpore 297SQKM industrial belt, which has gained a doubtful difference as a ‘prominent crime zone’, is likely to get eight new police stations soon.
The proposal has been sent to Nabanna.
According to the proposal, the area below the Belgharean police center will be divided into three, including Dakshineswar, Kamarhati and Belgharia while the Dum Dum police station will be broken down into two – Dum Dum and Nagerbazar.
“In addition to the big steps at times, Dakshineswar also has a crowd of Metro and Nagerbazar and Kamarhati, among others, have seen a large population growth over the past decade.
The new police station will help manage these areas efficiently,” said an officer , Other areas tend to get new police stations including Halisahar, Jethia, Mohanpur, Shibdapas and Shyamnagar.
Most will be arranged from Kalyani Expressway, which is prone to accidents other than vulnerable to crime.
There was also a plan to engrave three new police posts from Bhatpara and the Jagaddal police station.
