Greater Noida: Rope Wire Crash obstacles will be installed on both sides of Noida-Greater Noida Expressway on a small stretch.
Registered guidelines issued by the Ministry of Transport and Highway, the larger industrial development authority (Gnida) will be the first local body in the district to try the semi-rigid accident barriers in the corridor.
Gnida has set aside 2.58 crore Rs and identifies stretching 3.25 km for the project.
The use of semi-rigid barriers has been recommended for accident-prone locations, because cables absorb the impact of vehicles that drove and help reduce the severity of the crash.
Authority has been tied with the Indian Road Congress to conduct a technical feasibility survey on stretches, along with the study of traffic expenses.
Ashok Kumar Arora, General Manager (Projects), Gnida, said: “Mostcrashes reported this stretch involving passenger vehicles.
Very few accidents involving heavy vehicles, such as trucks or buses, have occurred in the area.” Authority has begun to look for agents who will Install obstacles, according to the standard framed by the American manual to assess the safety hardware.
Officials said stretching between Shafipur and Pari Chowk villages would be borne and obstacles would be installed within five months.
