Cincinnati: Barty Ashleigh the top ranked recovered from a break in the second set to sweep past Barbora Krejcikova 6-2, 6-4 on Friday and reach WTA and ATP Cincinnati semifinals.
The seeds of Australia handed over the Czech opponents only the third loss since mid-May in the battle of the Grand Slam champion.
Krejicikova won Roland Garros in June while Barty claims the Paris title in 2019 and Wimbledon this season.
“I feel like doing a good job to take care of me,” Barty said.
“For all but one service game, I feel like a lot of time I’m in control.” It just stayed patient, knowing that I did the right things.
