Cincinnati: Barty Ashleigh the top ranked recovered from a break in the second set to sweep past Barbora Krejcikova 6-2, 6-4 on Friday and reach WTA and ATP Cincinnati semifinals.
The seeds of Australia handed over the Czech opponents only the third loss since mid-May in the battle of the Grand Slam champion.
Krejicikova won Roland Garros in June while Barty claims the Paris title in 2019 and Wimbledon this season.
“I feel like doing a good job to take care of me,” Barty said.
“For all but one service game, I feel like a lot of time I’m in control.” It just stayed patient, knowing that I did the right things.

“In the semifinals on Saturday, Barty will face German Angelique Kerber, who advanced 6-4, 3-3 when the Czech Petra Kvitova against Barty now takes into account two of the three losses since winning Strasbourg on weeks before the French Open and then collected the Paris and Prague Cup.
Barty now stands a level with Krejcikova – a large double grand slam champion that makes his debut here – in 38 matches this season’s win.

After won the opening set in 32 minutes, Barty fell behind the second.
But the deficit was quickly closed because Barty broke the two final service matches of his opponent.
Barty forward with seven aces and four breaks in a 72-minute victory.

“Even in the days where he didn’t play his best tennis, he found a way to memo and fight and stay in the match and gave him his chance,” Barty said about Kerber.
“Angie is one of the best competitors in the world.
He knows how to play a big tournament, know how to play big matches.” He is confident, he is aggressive, but he can run and move and put the ball in complicated places, not to let you dictate too much.
