Tokyo: After the arrival of Ashleigh Barty to Japan, Chef De Mission Ian Chestererman has confirmed the world number one tennis player will not live in the Olympic Village while he lives in Tokyo.
Barty, who just last week lifted his first cup Wimbledon, hoping to continue momentum and add the Olympic gold medal to his kitty.
So far, four athletes have been positively tested for Covid-19 in the Olympic Village – including three of South Africa and one from Japan.
However, Chestererman stressed that Australia had not instructed their athletes to stay away from certain countries athletes.
