Bengaluru: Basavaraj Bommai was sworn in as Karnataka CM on Wednesday, thus dropping curtains on weeks of political uncertainty in the state.
Want to eliminate the impression that ex-cm BS Yeddiyurappa will retreat – ride his government, Bommai categorically said: “I won’t be a cm cm rubber.” While he will seek Yeddiyurappa’s advice and take advantage of his expertise, he will work to get a “approval stamp from the people”.
Previously on that day, Bommai called Yeddiyurappa in his house and looked for his blessings.
He then held a one-person cabinet meeting with high-ranking officials and announced many schemes.
This includes scholarship programs for farmers’ children with a cost of Rs 1,000 Crore.
The next big challenge is expanding the cabinet.
“I’m going to Delhi on Friday to meet BJP brass, including PM Modi, and will discuss all problems,” he said.
