Nagpur: Former Cabinet Minister Chandrashekhar Bawankule has been chosen as a BJP candidate for future polls, on Varicent Girish Vyas.
The official list released by Saffron was a confirmation of rumors that did the last month’s round, with the political rehabilitation of Bawankule on the cards after a shocking rejection of MLA tickets in 2019.
Toi recently reported that Bawankule will get a ticket.
.
Recently, in a public event, Vyas has talked about the work done during his tenure, leading some to believe that maybe Vyas has cut slum and maintain his claim to the chair.
Bawankule did not respond to Tii’s call or message.
Vias Girish, MLC Petahan, said he had no doubts for the refusal of the ticket.
“I always work for the party and their final decision.
Bawankule is a good choice and I have no doubt that he will be an asset at home.
I will continue to focus on party work in my role as a spokesman,” Vyas said.
BJP City President Pravin Datke tried to play down the decision not to give Vyas as a second shot.
“The HIGH Command party has made a decision and I am sure that they have taken it after being considered.
Girishji is a very senior BJP member and I have no doubt that the party will give him some other important responsibilities,” said Datke.
The party in the party said Bawankule had raised the tone to his claim to the MLC seat.
A BJP leader said, “Exactly from the time of the main power outages in Mumbai, Bawankule took the seat of the front row in attacking the MVA government using the former power minister’s portfolio as a credential.
Since then, he remains in the center of attention regardless of the problem and leads some protests and agitations Road level.
“Other party members said the sharpness of the Smart Political Awanankule was displayed, especially after being rejected by tickets in 2019.” After the first few days of anger, he quickly grilled the party line.
Since then, he has never spoken against any parties or leaders .
Bawankule sticks to this policy even in a personal discussion, “said another party member.
A party worker, who is known to be in the Vyas camp, said the MLC ticket for Bawankule could be a two-edged sword.
“Now he has a MLC ticket, does that mean that in 2024 he won’t get the MLA ticket? Only three years old, so surprised what was in the minds of the party leaders,” the worker said.
But Datke refused this as too speculative.
“Who knows what will happen at that time.
I’m not the authority to decide or I want to guess,” Datke said.
