New Delhi: BCCI On Wednesday extended the deadline for buying a tender document for the New Premier League (IPL) team with 10 days until October 20 and reliable sources said that two new franchisee would not cost less than RS 3500 Crore each .
The IPL Leadership Council has issued a ‘invitation to tender’ (ITT) document for payment of tender fees that cannot be returned from RS 10 Lakh on August 31.
This previously extended the date until October 10 “according to the request of various interested parties, BCCI has now decided to further extend the date to buy the ITT document until October 20, 2021,” BCCI release said.
BCCI plans to add two teams for the 2022 edition and are expected they can be based in Ahmedabad, Lucknow or Pune.
It has been studied that the main business houses such as the Group of Boxes, Aurobindo Pharma, Torrent Pharma, RP-Sanjiv Goenka Group, Birla and Adani Groups who are interested in joining IPL Bandwagon, which is an eight team of teams like now.
BCCI hopes to get a minimum RS 7000 Crore even though the basic price for each team has been set at the RS 2000 Crore.
The Indian cricket board allows the three-party consortium to present bids.
The new team is expected to be launched on October 25 in Dubai, a day after Indian clashes against Pakistani Arch-Rivals at the T20 World Cup.
