NEW DELHI: The Indian cricket board on Sunday vowed a contribution of Rs 10 crore for its trainings and training of the nation’s Olympic-bound athletes.
A conclusion in this regard was shot in the BCCI’s emerging Apex Council meeting, attended by Board president Sourav Ganguly and secretary Jay Shah.
“Yes, BCCI is going to probably be helping the Olympic recognized.
An quantity of Rs 10 crore was justified with the Apex Council,” a senior BCCI official told PTI.
“It (finance ) will be utilized for the preparation as well as other contingency functions of our elite athletes that have qualified to the Tokyo Games.
The modalities of this payment would be finalised after speaking into the Sports ministry and Indian Olympic Association (IOA).” The Tokyo Olympics will start from July 23.
