MADURAI: Officials Directorate of Precaia and Anti-Corruption (DVAC) on Tuesday arrested the Block Development Officer (BDO) in Sivaganga District in Tamil Nadu for taking a bribe of Rs 30,000.
A contractor complained about DVAC, Detachment Sivaganga, that he had submitted a job application under the Scheme of Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Guarantee Act (MGNREGA) for the construction of a compound wall in three schools.
Nirmal Kumar, Block Development Officer S Pudur Panchayat Union, demanded Rs 30,000 to issue a work order for the construction of a compound wall, he complained.
Based on his complaint, DVAC registered the case and put a trap.
