Margao: Chairman of the Minister of Pramod Sawant on Wednesday directing Public Relations Officers (PRO) and Head of Department (HODS) of the Government Department to focus on “proper planning” to produce positive content for the news to fight harmful publicity that appears in the mainstream media, social media.
Sawant said there was a need to “produce news with facts and numbers to deliver a strong message that this government worked for the benefit of the country and its people”, while handling Pro, Hods and OSD to the Cabinet Minister at a workshop organized by the Department of Information and Publicity Workshop.
The movement came after the government’s criticism of various quarters in several fronts in the previous several times before the election in early 2022.
“This endeavour will help substantially to highlight government achievements and initiatives and develop positive images in the next six months in the right perspective, “Sawant said.
The minister’s chairman told the pros to ensure the rapid publication of each clarification to fight criticism of the government.
“Don’t publish it after eight days,” he said.
Sawant said that in addition to print media, the government department must make “maximum use” of all Indian radio and Doordarshan which, he shows, has a large number of listeners / viewers.
