Be prepared to pay not wearing a mask right away

Rajkot: City police collected Rs 5.62 Crore as a penalty in 2021 from people who do not wear masks in public places.
Because the number of Covid cases began to increase again, the police considered starting to collect fines strictly in the coming days.
Data also shows that violators of mask rules have paid 8.82 lakh rs more than the previous year.
According to city traffic data, people also had to cough RS 4.8 Crore in place as a fine in 2021 for violating traffic rules such as jumping red lights, driving on the wrong side or other violations.
A senior official told Tii, “Covid cases are on the rise, but we have instructions from Gandhinagar not to be strict in collecting fine mask violations at this stage.
So we have decided for now to distribute masks to those who look visible Not wearing one.
After this movement, we will begin to punish violators.
“Rajkot people also paid the Pulling fee of Rs 11.86 lakh in 2021, which, however, have declined by around Rs 30 Lakh.
The reason behind the big number is that in 2020, the police first won the vehicle and a fine collected from the offenders charged under the charges of towing during curfew.
The police have begun to collect this year’s fines through the scan of the UPI and QR codes and so far collected Rs 27 Lakh as a fine.
