Noida: The increase in global shipping costs has made the cost of ordering shipping containers from India to US and Europe at least four times more expensive than last year.
As a result, exporter in Noida is burdened with the consignment that is waiting to be sent for weeks.
“The container is expensive now and most are not available at this time.
The crisis has built throughout the world for some time through a pandemic but has now hit a house.
The transport company does not place an order for several weeks, which leads to a slowdown in order service,” said Rajiv Bansal, Secretary of the Indian Industrial Association (IIA) said.
Noida has around 1,000 garment manufacturers that serve the Readymade Western clothing market.
With the opening of the global market, business has taken over the past few months, but the obstacle of delivery turned out to be a road barrier.
The same problem applies to those who import components for construction or manufacturing.
According to exporter, shipyards become crowded.
Exporters are largely dependent on shipping companies that facilitate the transfer of goods to international destinations either through water or air transportation.
“If the situation is not upgraded, we looked at some difficult times in front.
Apart from the canceled orders, maybe there is also a business transfer,” said Noida-based shipping service provider.
