NOIDA: Yogi Adityanath Chief Minister is scheduled to visit the city on Thursday.
He will distribute laptops among the meritorious students in Noida and five other districts in Meerut Division.
However, industrial development authorities do not want to miss the opportunity.
They are getting ready to launch some big ticket projects that day.
In the main auditorium Gautam Buddha University in Greater Noida, around 500 students from Noida and other districts will participate in the event.
Of those, five to six students will be summoned to the Dais and guided by the Chief Minister.
A total of 2,000 laptops will be distributed among students Noida, Ghaziabad, Meerut, Bulandshahr, Hapur and Baghpat.
“Some of these students will be called upon to Dais while others will get their machines in the future,” said Commissioner Meerut Surendra.

Officials said the higher number of laptops – about 500 – will be given to students of Noida and Greater Noida in accordance with a higher population.
Meanwhile, the three authorities compete with each other to launch their major projects.
Officials in Noida Authority said they had completed 15 projects worth more than Rs 350 crore to be launched on Thursday.
These projects include the City bus terminal at Sector 82 Noida, underpass at the intersection of sectors 51 and 71, a mini stadium in Sarfabad, park in sector 117, among others.
Similarly, greater Noida authorities braced for Ganga water supply project.
Officers in the authority said plaque with details of the project are carved on it will be launched and installed at its facilities in Jaitpur.
Ganga water supply to households across the city may take a few more days, the officials added.
Five new police station in Noida will start functioning from the police post there until a special building is completed.
Sources said AdityAnath may even formalize this.
While the land has been allocated for the new police station, the construction of the building has not yet begun.
Because the Chief Minister were likely to arrive at the University of the helicopter, officials have not yet completed the planned route.
