Noida: Chairman of the Yogi Adityanath Minister is scheduled to visit the city on Thursday.
He will distribute a laptop among students merit in Noida and five other districts in the Meerut Division.
However, industrial development authorities do not want to miss opportunities.
They prepared to launch several big ticket projects that day.
In the main auditorium of the Gautam Buddha University in Greater Noida, around 500 students from Noida and other districts will participate in the event.
From them, five to six students will be summoned to Dais and guided by the minister’s chairman.
As many as 2,000 laptops will be distributed among noida students, Ghaziabad, Meerut, Bulandshahr, Hapur and Baghpat.
“Some of these students will be called to Dais while others will get their machine later,” said Commissioner Meerut Surendra Singh.
Officials say a large number of laptops – around 500 – will be given to students from Noida and Greater Noida in accordance with a higher population.
Meanwhile, the three authorities compete with each other for the launch of their main projects.
Officials at Noida authorities said they had completed 15 projects worth more than Rs 350 Crore to be launched on Thursday.
These projects include the Noida City bus terminal in sector 82, underpass at the intersection of sectors 51 and 71, a mini stadium in Sarfabad, park in sector 117, among others.
Similarly, the larger Noida authority prepares for the Ganga water supply project.
Officials in the authorities say plaque with the details of the project carved on it will be launched and installed in the facility in Jaitpur.
The supply of ganga water to households throughout the city can take a few more days, officials added.
Officials at Yamuna Expressway Authority also completed a list of their projects that could be launched that day.
Ahead of the visit of the minister’s chairman, five new police stations in Noida will begin to function from existing police posts until special buildings are completed.
The source said Adityanath might even formalize this.
While land has been allocated for new police stations, building construction has not yet begun.
Since the minister’s chairman tends to arrive at the University in the helicopter, officials have not completed route plans.
