Ahmedabad: The State Health Index report for 2019-20 was released by Niti Aayog on Monday.
The silver layer for Gujarat climbed one rank from 7 in the last report to 6.
This report also mentions that Gujarat increases marginal health expenditure, from 6.51% of the annual budget to 7.24%.
However, in some other indicators, the state does not have a great show.
The report, analyzed data from shortly before Covid’s pandemic began, found that around 53% of the sanctions for nurses in PHC, UHC and Blank CHC were empty in Gujarat.
Likewise, the district hospital has a shortage of 37% at a specialist.
In the long-term index, the country was decided to the worst players among major countries in several parameters.
According to the report, the ratio of sex at birth was reduced by 4.5% from 2014 to 2018 (from 907 to 866), the sharpest decline among major countries.
Institutional delivery fell 5.7%, from 90.8% to 86.1% from 2014-15 to 2019-20.
“Pandemic shows the importance of public health systems and the need for trained human resources.
While the data is rather old, it is definitely an indication where efforts need to be concentrated and how to strengthen health delivery outside the urban area,” said a public health expert based in the city.
