Kolkata: One hundred thirty-eight people were vaccinated in one of the last private vaccination camps held at the Baguiati club on Sunday before the government delayed all camps to frame more rules to run vaccination center outside the location.
This step came after a fake vaccination camp excavated in Kasba last week.
On Monday, the vaccination center in the hospital (both government and private) and the KMC clinic operates with the exception of several centers outside the location in the mall.
Private hospital canceled all of their off-site vaccination drives.
For vaccination centers outside the location, the government on Saturday has issued a list of guidelines that include submission of shared applications by private health facilities and participating organizations to hold inoculation camps, permission from vaccination stations, vaccination places to be made in Cowin letters and approval from Department of Health.
“We sent applications with the local police station and local council members.
Local civilian bodies and other institutions are also informed about drive vaccination at the club,” said Deb Kumar Pal, Secretary of the Sport Board of Baguiati.
“We intend to do more camps such as the right guidelines framed because we were flooded with requests from the locals.” One hundred and forty-three people have registered while 138 of them vaccinated at the club.
“This club has a very good reputation.
Moreover, they have binded with famous hospitals.
So, I have no doubt before coming here for vaccination,” said Sutapa Sen, a Jessore Road resident, who was vaccinated in the camp.
AMRI Hospital drives vaccination.
“We have taken permission from CMOH.
All government guidelines are followed during vaccination drive,” said representatives from hospitals present at the vaccination center in Bagguiati on Sunday.
Previously, all private vaccination centers had to fill out the form, send it to the Ministry of Health which made the page on the co-win portal for certain camps.
Now additional permit is needed while more detail than the camp and vaccination center are being sought in the application form.
The Ministry of Health now requires 48 hours since the time of the application to issue a final permit.
