Before waste energy factory, 4 years waiting, take off, cleaning RS 16CR

Gurgaon: The City Corporation of Gurgaon (MCG) has floated tenders for a reduction in bio-remediation, mining and reclamation of 10 hectares of land on the TPA Bandhwari website, four years after signing a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the ecogreen waste management company to prepare waste factories to energy there .
Some of the sites, which will be cleaned up with the estimated cost of RS 16 Crore, will then be used by the EcoGreen to regulate the factory.
MCG and Municipal Corporation of Faridabad (MCF) have signed the MoU with Ecogreen on June 30, 2017 for solid waste management and establishing waste factories to energy in bandhwari at a cost of Rs 330 Crore.
Ecogreen has quoted space constraints and pandemic as a reason behind the delay in the initial work at a waste treatment plant.
“We have more than 30 hectares of land in bandhwari.
We must provide a 10-hectare ecogreen to regulate the plant.
We have issued a tender estimate and received from three institutions.
Technical evaluation of these institutions will be carried out in advance, after that one institution will be given Bio-remediation and waste cleaning contracts.
The estimated project is around Rs 16 Crore, “said an official MCG soldier for this problem.
On April 13, 2018, Minister Haryana Mansa Manohar Lal Khattar had placed the stone foundation stone.
Ecogreen received an environmental permit for the project from the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change in November 2020, the MCG house issued a resolution to cancel the Ecogreen contract quoting inefficiency in managing city waste – plants for energy.
However, the resolution was rejected by the Haryana government in December 2020.
“MCG will surrender land to us after the Civic body cleanses waste.
This is likely to be done within one month, after that we will continue the work at the factory,” said Sanjay Sharma, Deputy CEO of Ecogreen .
According to the tender document, the height of the TPA Bandhwari is 40 meters and the total area is almost 31 hectares.
The ownership of the landfill site is with the MCF and the site has been used for open disposal of solid waste since 2010.
About 27.5 lakh waste has been stored in TPA and an additional 1,800 tons dumped every day.
