Beirut: The judge led the investigation into Port Beirut’s explosion last summer issued Subpoena for the Guardian of Prime Minister Hassan Diab on Thursday after he failed to be questioned, the Lebanese State News Agency reported.
Judge Tarek Bitar, who led an investigation against the explosion, which issued a request in July to question the other Top Diab and officials, including the main General Abbas Ibrahim, Head of a strong public security agency, and several former ministers.
The explosion, which was caused by a large number of ammonium nitrates which was stored nonstop for years, killed hundreds, was injured by thousands and destroyed the capital’s great plots.
More than a year, no senior official is responsible, making many Lebanese people.
The question of the explosion repeatedly vomited with the main judge deleted in February after the court made the request of two former ministers he was assigned to negligence for the disaster.
Request by Bitar to lift the immunity of several parliamentarians and to question high officials also stopped.
The Diab session was postponed until September 20, the news agency said.
The justice source told Reuters that it should have failed to attend the September session, the judge would have the right to issue an arrest warrant.
Diab, who has said he is innocent for mistakes connected with the explosion, not immediately available for comments.
