Believe Double Digit Growth: Mercedes India CEO

Bengaluru: Mercedes Benz Indian luxury car maker has received around 80% of last year’s sales in the first five months of this fiscal and goes with trends, the company expects a strong two-digit growth this time, Martin Schwenk, Director of Executing and CEO, said.
“The recovery has been v formal and stronger this year than the last.
Demand for all of our products is high.
In fact, sales in July and August are higher than the pre-covid level,” he told Toi.
German car makers sold 1,070 units last month and led luxury car packages in India, up from 497 units in the same period last year.
The next line is BMW and Jaguar Land Rover.
The request – said that whatever he made was sold to a low inventory level – together with global supply chain issues has caused an increase in waiting period to 8-16 weeks for its cars in India, which is a challenge.
It includes cars like GLA, GLC and E-Class.
“We all fight with the bidding situation.
While production returns to normal, supply chain constraints in sea transportation, air transport has put us under pressure along with the chipset problem, even though it is not as severe for us.
Some parts don’t arrive on time and this has caused Higher waiting times on some new products that are not good.
We haven’t reduced production but catch up and work overtime to ensure we provide cars quickly.
“The company announced earlier this year he threw away the traditional dealer model and wanted to sell cars directly to passengers from fourth quarter.
