Dharwad: Hubbballi-Dharwad Municipal Corporation Maternity Hospital adjacent to the Old Bus Holder in Dharwad was inaugurated by MLA Arvind Bellad on Saturday.
The hospital renovated at the cost of Rs 45 Lakh has five separate cabins for doctors, and laboratories.
The building has been renovated and the road to the hospital has been insulted.
Deshpande Foundation has donated an ultrasound machine for 14.5 lakh Rs.
Specialist doctors including Senior Pediatrician Dr.
Rajan Deshpande who is also a member of the Rotary club has offered their services for free to the hospital.
Commissioner HDMC Suresh Itnal said two doctors, three nurses and four group staff were recruited for hospitals.
“We launch this program based on experiments, and depends on the response, we will decide to expand it to another hospital, there must be more private volunteer doctors,” said itnal.
Private doctor’s services are present as a measure to prevent possible crisis by estimating the third wave of Covid-19.
HDMC felt a shortage of doctors when twin cities were rolled under the second wave of pandemic.
Private doctors have agreed to visit HDMC maternity hospitals every day, and attend patients.
“Pediatricians, orthopedic surgeons, eye doctors, gynecologists, general surgeons, among other experts, have expressed interest in serving in hospitals.
They will spend at least two or three hours at this hospital,” said Dr.
Rajan Deshpande .
HDMC Health Officer Sridhar Dandappanavar said the honorary doctors would work in hospitals in the afternoon.
“Consultation will be free, and the registration fee for patients will be nominal.
We have installed Machiniand ultrasonography will repair prices for scanning immediately,” he said.
