Frizzed: Open Municipal Corporation (BECC) on Thursday canceled his decision to close the outlet near the Ramalingeswar park, except 30 in front of the park, during the Minister and MLA visit, but decided to keep the park outside the public up to Monday, drawing protests from BJP youth wing.
The Civic body made a decision as several vendors and the public expressed dissatisfaction at the close of shops and roads during the Minister and MLA visit to the park.
BEMC decided to keep the park closed from August 18 to 30 to visit Minister and MLA to the park, while they were here to attend the Prime Function of the School Transformation Program under the 5T initiative in the Hinjili and Sheragada blocks.
About 20 ministers and MLA have visited this district in each group in five phases, starting August 21.
Expressing their displeasure, some vendors previously questioned the need to entertain legal makers with their livelihood costs.
“I have ordered not to close the shops near the park for the visit of officials,” said Commissioner BEMC Siddeshar Baliram Bondar.
He said to avoid crowding and prevent Covid-19 infection, the park must be temporarily closed.
“Park Ramalingeswar is one of the important projects during their visit, because this is a unique water body development project that can be replicated in other districts,” he added.
