LONDON: Ben Stokes is likely to miss the British Twenty20 World Cup campaign, with Chief Coach Chris Silverwood insisting on the All-Rounder’s personal well-being remains a top priority.
The 30-year-old player is currently taking no limits from Cricket to prioritize his mental health and recover from a finger injury and have not taken the field since July.
The International Cricket Council requires a team on Friday and it seems very unlikely that Stokes will make a list of 15.
Britain plans to mention three standby players and he might even not be mentioned in the list.
“We will let one be late, to give our best chance,” Silverwood said.
“Whatever Ben’s support needs to get from us.” I haven’t talked to Him because I want to give him as much room as possible, but there are people who talk to him outside of me and that is something we will do.
