Bhubaneswar: The department meets on Friday says the new low-pressure area is likely to be formed above the Bay of Bengal on Monday and causes rainfall in the state for two to three days.
“Fresh images show that the formation that might bring more rainfall than the last two monsoon systems in August,” Umashankar Das, regional IMD center scientists in the city, said.
He added that there was a chance of light to moderate rain in many places in the state during the weekend.
After that, the intensity of rain tends to increase and will spread in the beach bag, interior and North Odisha for the next two days.
Insulated places in several districts can also experience heavy rainfall under their influence, said the watershed.
Sarat Chandra Sahu, Director of the Central Environment and Climate Center is considered as a university, also sharing a view of the watershed.
