Chennai: Minister of Finance Tamil Nadu Palanivel Thiaga Rajan on Tuesday said reduction in RS 3 in gasoline prices had directly benefited two crore riders in the state and it would function as an economic stimulus.
“The government observed data related to the sale of gasoline and diesel in the last 30 days.
We observed how reducing gasoline prices was reflected every day in the state.
The results of data will define future steps,” said Minister while responding to AIDMK MLA VV Rajan Chellappa Looking for explanations not to reduce diesel prices.
The minister said the reduction in gasoline prices was not only relieved but would function as a stimulus for the country’s economy.
Because the government believes that it will be directly useful for the owners of two-wheeled two-wheeled Crore, the middle and lower middle class, reducing the price of gasoline.
But it’s not so in the case when it comes to diesel because enough data is not available with the state, he said.
Data related to diesel vehicles are available with oil marketing companies, which come under the union rule.
They don’t share details full of countries.
Therefore, the state government is not in a position to call.
Because there is uncertainty whether the reduction in fuel prices to logistics and transportation will seep into consumers in line or not, the government has chosen alternative assistance steps to targeted groups.
It has increased diesel subsidies for fishermen and taxes that are postponed on the bus operator, he added.
The minister said while the DMK regime had reduced fuel prices four times, the AIDMK regime had increased fuel prices in the last three years.
In the non-tax budget, the minister said that the former Mr.
M G Ramachandran had increased sales tax by 1% to feed school children under the lunch scheme.
“It is the task of the government to find the right way and means to increase government revenue and support the scheme.
Social justice is the basis of each state government scheme,” he said.
