Kolkata: The Chairman of the Minister of Mamata Banerjee has a word for Gangasagar pilgrims and asks worshipers not to visit large amounts given the threat of omicron.
CM also asked pilgrims to obey the orders of the High Court which mandated the RT-PCR test for those who headed for the Holy Sauce.
“We must obey HC’s orders.
People should not go to Gangasagar without undergoing RT-PCR tests,” CM said at the OUTRAM GHAT in Kolkata on Wednesday.
Banerjee argues that the Omicron variant has hit people in the state, touching almost all families.
“Never in the last two years did so many people signed a virus.
The Omicron variant is a super spreader, which affects almost all families,” he said.
CM urged leaders of pilgrims who came from other countries to take care of team members and immediately told the administration if someone fell ill.
“You all have to take care of your health and well-being.
Don’t rush to Gangasagar.
If you are safe, then you can come again next time.
Take the help of the police if there are friends who fall.
I ask you to give priority to your health, most importantly At present.
“Cm, while explaining how difficult it is to filter viral operators, say,” Many of those who come from outside may bring a virus.
But how much we can test when millions will do a RT-PC test., But can we do it for 20 lakh or 25 lakh people? “Banerjee begged pilgrims to follow Covid safety norms without waiting for authority to uphold them.
CM states that Bharat Sevashram Sangha, who volunteer to Mela every year, has resigned this time because most of their volunteers and their families fell with Covid.
“Don’t make a lot of excitement there.
Our officers and employees require some risk,” CM said.
Banerjee said the government had handled a good pandemic over the past two years and hoped it would be installed on the challenge of Omicron following Jalan Swami Vivekandada.
“All of you wear double masks, use cleaners and don’t spit here and there – because they spread the virus.” CM says everyone must be extra careful to remain safe.
“If someone coughs on the bus, take him to the police for the RT-PCR test, for your own safety.
Take some additional masks on the bus to Gangasagar.
If someone doesn’t follow the norm, then he will risk the life of others..”
