KOLKATA: West Bengal leader Alapan Bandyopadhyay, whose abrupt transfer arrangement in the Centre days prior to his first retirement snowballed into a significant controversy, is not likely to report into the Department of Personnel and Training on Monday, since he’s yet to find the nod against the state administration, a highly placed source explained.
Bandyopadhyay was very much current in the state secretariat’Nabanna’ on a Sunday, he explained.
“Currently, Mr Bandyopadhyay hasn’t yet been relieved of his responsibilities by the West Bengal government.

According to tomorrow’s calendar, he might be engaging in an inspection meeting to be chaired from the CM in the state secretariat about 3 pm,” the source told PTI.
The Centre, in a surprise move, needed on Friday night hunted Bandyopadhyay’s providers and asked that the state government to immediately publish the very best bureaucrat.
Bandyopadhyay, a 1987-batch IAS officer of West Bengal cadre, has been scheduled to retire on May 31 after conclusion of 60 decades old.
But he had been allowed a three-month extension after a nod by the Centre to operate on Covid management.
In a communique to the country authorities, the Personnel Ministry on Friday said that the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet has accepted the placement of the employment of Bandyopadhyay together with Government of India according to requirements of the Indian Administrative Service (cadre) Rules, 1954,”with immediate effect”.
