KOLKATA: The state authorities on Wednesday formed a six-member specialist committee to check into the feasibility of conducting Madhyamik and Higher Secondary assessments in the country, considering security problems in the recent Covid situation along with also the fallout of not conducting examinations when students have never been evaluated in the last calendar year.
The committee containing three educationists, two physicians and a child rights advocate is going to need to submit an application from Friday for the state education department to take a call on the matter.
Pupils connected with different state boards also have moved the apex court against carrying of offline tests and eyes are currently trained about hearing.
CBSE and CISCE have cancelled both Class X and Class XII board examinations citing safety difficulties.
For Class XII students, the two boards have retained a listing of written evaluations open in a later date to those not happy with the marks provided after assessing course, mid-term and pre-board examinations.
While the 2 boards headquartered in Delhi have connected schools in cities and towns where access to resources and technology have allowed them to maintain online courses in addition to online evaluations in 2020 and 2021, many schools connected to this Madhyamik Board and also HS Council have managed to do this as a result of digital divide.
