Kolkata: West Bengal on Friday reported 22,645 new Covid-19 cases – 822 less than the previous day – which pushed the calculation to 18,63,697, the health department said in the bulletin.
Twenty-eight deaths related to Covid in the highest state since the third wave of pandemics struck in December – with toll clocks to 20.013, the bulletin stated.
The participants are dipped in 31.14% from 32.13% a day ago.
The mortality rate reached 1.07%.
Kolkata recorded 6,867 new cases in the last 24 hours followed by 24 North Parganas at 4,018.
Of the 28 deaths, eight reported in 24 North and seven parganas in the city.
A total of 8,687 people recovered from the disease in the last 24 hours.
The release rate slipped from 91.77% the previous day to 91.12%.
Bengal currently has 1,45,483 active cases, said Bulletin.
A total of 72,725 samples were tested in the state since Thursday, taking the total number of clinical examinations to 2,28,08,650, he added.
