Kolkata: The State Education Department introduces the learning system for elementary school students, is requested by fears that they experience setbacks on the basics due to problems with online schools.
The Literacy and Numerate Program Foundation (FLN) will help bridge the online-offline gap for class I students to IV.
The Expert Committee from the School Education Department has been assigned to the responsibility for preparing FLN material.
If everything goes well, the copy draft can be sent at the end of December or January next year.
Implementation can occur from the next academic session.
The wise district workshop was set to identify the problem of primary students’ problems, especially in languages and mathematics.
This committee gathers input from various districts and prepares FLN, which is basically teaching materials to help students learn skills by using certain tools such as cards, colorful blocks, and several reading booklets.
The source in the department said it has been identified, through various surveys in the past recently, that primary students have suffered a lot because of a change in pandemic induced in learning.
The dropout rate has risen in the past two years, and many elementary school students forget to read and write and do basic mathematical calculations.
“When the government gives ahead to reopen the primary part, it can be a challenge for the government to bring back those who drop out of school, make them continue their studies and help them install for two years,” said a source, added, “even Among those who have not left, it is noted that the basics are rusty.
” The department has launched a project a few years ago, called ‘early class literacy and numeracy’, for primary section students.
FLN is an enhanced version and detail of the previous project.
“Through FLN, the teaching process will be more scientific,” said a department official.
“Students will be withdrawn to learn more and it will help build a strong learning foundation.” Based on teacher inputs in various workshops, the committee is preparing “compact learning materials” by adding tools such as booklets, manuals, cards and blocks.
There will also be a built-in way to evaluate how many of these students understand this method.
The welcome teacher moved, said the basic learning block of learning would never be compromised.
“What can be learned in class II and III will not act as a reference point when a student learns new things in class IV.
