KOLKATA: Hotels, restaurants and pubs are embracing a multi-pronged plan for reopening as soon as possible after assurance from main minister Mamata Banerjee on Thursday.
Hotel and Restaurants Association of Eastern India (HRAEI) is beginning a mass vaccination push from Tuesday in affiliation with the tourism division when top restaurants have begun implementing Covid-related SOPs, such as sanitization and decreasing ground capability.
HRAEI agents met with country tourism secretary Nandini Chakravorty on Friday, and HRAEI president Sudesh Poddar said that the body will receive co-operation in the country.
Restaurants will be permitted to function from 5pm-8pm, the CM had stated.
Banerjee had stated limitations were needed due to the pandemic but she needs companies to conduct after taking necessary measures.
She made it very clear that restaurants are permitted to reopen after vaccination of employees.
The proprietor of Peter Cat and Mocambo, Nitin Kothari, stated they’ll follow directions issued by the country for reopening and they have told workers around getting vaccinated.
Kothari said he’d reopen just Mocambo due to limited hours, however the Peter Cat menu will soon be accessible there.
Charles Mantosh, proprietor of Waldorf, Moulin Rouge and Floriana stated that they have vaccinated the vast majority of workers.
Former president FHRAI T S Walia said that the institution is writing to members of HRAEI regarding the germ drive.
“The condition is helping us receive the vaccine while still we will offer the place and price.
There’ll be multiple centers,” he explained.
