Bengaluru: A Bengalururean who sells incorrect hearing aids worth 2.5 lakh ride local health clinics and sound earmakers to the city consumer court and recently won refunds, compensation of 50,000 and rs 10,000 rs towards the court and transportation costs.
On March 22, 2019, Sudeep Hememareddy Saswihalli, 43, from Phase 7 JP Nagar, bought a Phonak hearing aid for Rs 2.5 lakh from the Wellness Clinic hearing in Nrupathunga Nagar and realized there were some defects in use in several months.
He approached the clinic and got himself a new device, with an extended warranty until January 2023.
But many were disappointed Bengalurean, a new hearing aid also gave him a problem.
He approached the regional office of the clinic and Phonak at Langford Town, but did not get a positive response.

With no signs of relief from both parties, Sudeep finally approached Bangalore Urban 2nd Regency district mention the recovery commission in Shantinagar with complaints against the hearing of health clinics and Phonak.
In the court process which began in December 2020, the Sudeep lawyer presented his case, while the advocates that appeared on behalf of the clinic claimed that the hearing aid was replaced once, but the complainant had made accusations that could not be maintained and harassed the law.
Representative Phonak failed to appear in court.
In their decision was pronounced on December 1, 2021, the judges from the consumer forum slammed to hear the health clinic and Phonak because they did not deal with sudeep concerns and failed to restore or replace their hearing aids, which they called lack of services.
The court directed the clinic and Phonak to jointly returned RS 2.5 lakh to Sudeep, in addition to paying RS 5,000 on transportation costs and RS 5,000 on court costs and RS 50,000 as compensation for problems caused.
The forum said all payments must be made within 60 days after the order.
