Bengaluru: 34,000 in the queue for a housing scheme

Bengaluru: Rajiv Gandhi Housing Corporation Limited (RGHCL) has received 34,632 applications that are looking for benefits of subsidized housing in Bengaluru Urban District under the Multi-Floor Housing Scheme of Bengaluru’s Head Minister.
From applicants, 3,060 has paid the initial deposit of Rs 1 Lakh as a recipient’s contribution.
This scheme strives to fulfill the dream of domestic workers, milk racers, boys send newspapers, car drivers, barber and vegetable vendors to live under their own roof but cannot afford it.
According to official estimates, there were 4.3 families of Migrant Lakh without their own home in Bengalu City, and the scheme imagined building a lakh house for the poor.
Built in Ground + 3 and Tarib + 14 format, home 1 BHK will cost Rs 10.6 lakh and 2 BHK Rs 15.6 lakh.
Beneficiaries must pay home fees, excluding subsidies provided by the government, easily emis.
Overall, 38,403 1 BHK house and 8,096 2 BHK houses were being built with the estimated fee of Rs 4,476 Crore in the first phase.
They are being built using monolithic sliding wall designs, fast trajectory technology.
At 2023-end, beneficiaries will be able to move to their new home.
Although the scheme was wrapped in 2017, there was no progress because of the unavailability of land.
However, in 2019, fresh life was infused into it because the government saw the opportunity to seduce the urban poor by imposing the BBMP election.
Government soil recovery that violates is also useful for implementing the scheme.
With 313 hectares of land needed in 45 locations for the first phase, the income department has provided land in the phase.
“In almost four months, 290 hectares of land encroachment have been reclaimed and we provide it for home development for the poor,” said J Manjunath, Urban Deputies Bengaluru.
“Because it is a transparent system, people are allowed to check the floor plan online and decide which house they want to buy,” said a senior officer from RGHCL.
Girjimma Thippeswamy, a vegetable vendor, who has been allocated 1 bhk house in Nelaguli, said he was more than happy.
“We have stayed in houses with sheets of sheets in Shantytown throughout the day.
With this scheme, we can at least live a respectable life,” he said.
Majunath Driver Automatic Manjunath L said this scheme has helped to get a bride suitable for him.
His family is more than happy with the match when they know he will get a house under the scheme, he added.
“Today, everyone wants a house in Bengaluru.
As an automatic driver, it is not easy to survive in the city.
This scheme gives us hope to live independently.
Paying low emists will be easy for us,” said Manjunath.
“We hope to get 80,000 applications in January.
Soon we will begin to create public awareness about the scheme so that maximum people can benefit,” said Basavaraju S, IAS, Director of Executive, RGHCL.
